Alcatel introduced Pixi 4 lineup at CES 2016 This new lineup consists new tablets, smartphones, and a “smart” watch for kids. The Pixi 4 line consists of four budget-friendly devices in total – two compact smartphones, one phablet and a small tablet. Let’s follow the devices below:
It is an entry-level Android smartphone with a 3.5” sized display. The display resolution is 320 x 480 HVGA, with a dismal pixel density of just 164 pixels per inch. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6572M dual-core SoC clocked at 1.1 GHz, based on the Cortex-A7 architecture. The rest of the specs are pretty unimpressive as well. You get 512MB of RAM, 4GB of expandable memory, 2MP rear camera, and a VGA front-facing camera for video calls. The handset boots Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The 4.0-inch smartphone comes with a WVGA display with 480 x 800 resolution, a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580M processor, 512MB/1GB of RAM (depending on storage option), either 4 or 8GB of on-board storage and microSD expansion up to 32GB. The 3.5-inch phone will come to market with Android 5.1 Lollipop, while the 4.0-inch phone comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Emerging markets will be first to get these devices, Latin America, parts of Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
It is a 6 inch smartphone with 1280 x 720 resolution, a quad-core MediaTek MSM8909 processor clocked at 1.1GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and microSD expansion up to 64GB.
The Pixi 4 (7) is a 7” Android tablet with 600 x 1024 resolution. It is powered by the MediaTek MT8321 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.1 GHz and includes 1GB of RAM. There is also 8GB of onboard expandable memory, GSM/3G network support, 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera, and a 2580mAh capacity battery. On the software front, the tablet runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Pixi 4 lineup, Alcatel OneTouch has also taken the wraps off a new 2G connected watch for kids called the CareTime. Through this parents can keep track on their kids via GPS.
