Asus ZenFone 4 starts getting Android 8.0 Oreo update

After the long wait Asus finally starts rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo to its Zenfone 4. The update comes with the firmware version V15.0405.1711.76. Asus confirms the Oreo update for its Zenphone 3 and 4 back in August, after the announcement of Android Oreo.

Coming back to the update, It includes the latest Android Oreo all its goodies like Picture in Picture mode, auto fill, notification channels, new revamped settings app, new notification center and several others. Currently the update is rolling out to the ZenFone 4 variant ZE554KL only. But we think the other variant will also get it very soon.

As this is an OTA update it will reach each and every user in some time. SO don’t panic it the update notification did not poped up on your phone. Meanwhile you can check update manually by going through the settings of your phone, than about phone and then to software updates.

Users who get the update do share your experiences via comments below. People with other variants of Zenfone 4 can also share with us if they got any update or bot. Moreover, some phones of Zenfone 3 series will also get Oreo update by the Q2 of 2018 as promised by ASUS.

  • My biggest question is... does this mean Android Oreo will get to the ASUS Zenfone AR anytime soon? If I remember correctly this came out between Zenfone 3 and 4. Are they doing this or perhaps ignoring their off hand phone with the neat Tango tech that is likely DOA?

    • Right now there is no info related to Zenfone AR Oreo Update. when we get some will be reported on the website. Stay Tuned.
