Moto X4 reportedly started receiving Android Oreo 8.0 update in India

Following the Android Oreo update for the Android One Moto X4. It seems, the major update is now making its way into standard Moto X4 models, at least in India. Courtesy to a tweet by a Twitter user, the normal Moto X4 has started receiving Android Oreo 8.0 update over-the-air.

As it’s obvious, the update brings nearly pure Android Oreo 8.0 experience with less or negligible customizations from the Motorola. Since, no matter whether Android One or Standard model, the lenovo-owned company prefers pure Android for its devices, rather than customizing with additional skins.

As per the changelog, the security patch level is being elevated to 1st December. The stability and performance of the device will be having some notable improvements once the update is installed. Naturally, the package does boards all the Oreo exclusive features such as PiP(Picture-In-Picture) Mode, Adaptive Icon Dots, Enhanced Split-Screen and many other new features not present in previous Android Nougat.

As earlier stated, the update seems to be hitting only Indian Moto X4’s.
