It’s an impressive growth, and particularly impressive for one with close to $70 billion in revenue. Net income for Q1 2015 was $3.68 billion compared with $3.5 billion, or $5.04 a share in 2015. There’s also great loss of around 1.1 Billion due to currency fluctuations and here what Google said, “Google’s first quarter revenue was $17.3 billion, up 12% year on year. Excluding the net impact of foreign currency headwinds, revenue grew a healthy 17% year on year,” said Patrick Pichette, CFO of Google, in a statement. “We continue to see great momentum in our mobile advertising business and opportunities with brand advertisers.”

Of its total revenue, advertising consisted of $15.5 billion, with Google’s own websites accounting for $11.9 billion. That’s up 14 percent year over year. Aggregate paid clicks rose 13 percent in Q1, while cost-per-click rates fell 7 percent. Google also added 1800 employees during Q1, which makes its total full-time employees 55,400.

Adjustment Payment in relation to Class C Capital Stock Distribution

In January 2014, our board of directors approved the distribution of shares of Class C capital stock as a dividend to our holders of Class A and Class B common stock (the Stock Split). The Stock Split had a record date of March 27, 2014 and a payment date of April 2, 2014. In accordance with a settlement of litigation involving the authorization to distribute Class C capital stock, at the close of trading on April 2, 2015, the last trading day of the 365 day period following the first date the Class C shares traded on NASDAQ (Lookback Period), we determined that a payment (the Adjustment Payment) in the amount of $522 million was due. The amount of the Adjustment Payment was based on the percentage difference that developed between the volume-weighted average price of Class A and Class C shares during the Lookback Period, as supplied by NASDAQ Data-on-Demand, and is payable to holders of Class C capital stock as of the end of the Lookback Period in cash, Class A common stock, Class C capital stock, or a combination thereof, at the discretion of our board of directors. On April 22, 2015, our board of directors approved the Adjustment Payment to be paid on or about May 4, 2015 in shares of Class C capital stock, and cash in lieu of any fractional shares of Class C capital stock.

ABOUT NON-GAAP FINANCIAL MEASURES

To supplement our consolidated financial statements, which are prepared and presented in accordance with GAAP, we use the following non-GAAP financial measures: non-GAAP operating income, non-GAAP operating margin, non-GAAP net income, non-GAAP diluted EPS, free cash flow, non-GAAP constant currency revenues, and non-GAAP constant currency revenue growth. The presentation of this financial information is not intended to be considered in isolation or as a substitute for, or superior to, the financial information prepared and presented in accordance with GAAP.

We use these non-GAAP financial measures for financial and operational decision-making and as a means to evaluate period-to-period comparisons. Our management believes that these non-GAAP financial measures provide meaningful supplemental information regarding our performance and liquidity by excluding certain expenses and expenditures that may not be indicative of our recurring core business operating results, such as our revenues excluding the impact for foreign currency fluctuations or our operating performance excluding not only non-cash charges, such as SBC, but also discrete cash charges that are infrequent in nature. We believe that both management and investors benefit from referring to these non-GAAP financial measures in assessing our performance and when planning, forecasting, and analyzing future periods. These non-GAAP financial measures also facilitate management’s internal comparisons to our historical performance and liquidity as well as comparisons to our competitors’ operating results. We believe these non-GAAP financial measures are useful to investors both because (1) they allow for greater transparency with respect to key metrics used by management in its financial and operational decision-making and (2) they are used by our institutional investors and the analyst community to help them analyze the health of our business.

For more information on these non-GAAP financial measures, please see the tables captioned “Reconciliations of non-GAAP results of operations to the nearest comparable GAAP measures,” “Reconciliation from net cash provided by operating activities to free cash flow,” and “Reconciliation from GAAP revenues to non-GAAP constant currency revenues” included at the end of this release.

The partnership with the U.S. tech giant to build Glass—the Internet-connected eyewear—is going ahead, said Massimo Vian, speaking at the company’s general meeting in Milan, Italy. Further, Vian said they are working on the new product, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. He said it’s coming soon, but did not give a specific timeline.

Google also replied, “The team is heads down building the future of the product and we’re not commenting on rumor or speculation.”

It’s good new that Google didn’t left development on this experimental device as after the discontinuation of old version of Glass, it was put under review whether to pour development into it or not.

As per the old reports it is expected that Google Glasses 2 will come with an improved battery life, a better display, better sound, and will most importantly feature a lower price tag for consumers.

Android Logo Pissing On Apple In Google Maps

Someone has posted a different type of edit on the Google Maps through Maps maker and moderator has even approved the edit on the map. The edit is not normal, someone has crafted the grass slice from the Map maker to design a Android Logo Urinating on the Apple’s logo.

The image, found near the city of Rawalpindi in Pakistan. At the moment, it’s unclear who created this little piece of mischief and whether Google is taking action. You can check it via the link here or you can also type the coordinates in manually. Simply enter33°30’52.5″N 73°03’33.2″E into the search box.

Into this, there’s an another image which gives a hint as to this origin: “Google review policy is crap,” it reads, accompanied by a sad face. So, overall if we see, this is a message for Google to improve their review policies. Earlier also these policies were hinted for improvement. You can see the second image below:

hello-app

Hello app allows you to block a call, people and place searching, and a caller ID-like functionality. Facebook states that “When you get a call, Hello will show you info about who’s calling you, even if you don’t have that number saved in your phone. The app, which is called Hello and is only available on Android, uses data from Facebook to tell you who’s blowing up your phone. It is available on Google Play store as a free download, replaces the native Android dialer with a significantly more Facebook-centric version.

The app also promotes free calling over Wi-Fi using VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol.

Comparison: Samsung Galaxy S6 Vs Apple iPhone 6

In Tech world, there’s no rivalry like of Samsung and Apple. There’s a great history of both the companies of spitting venom on each other and suing each other on the basis of patents. So in order to carry on that rivalry here we are with the comparison of Samsung’s recently launched flagship device, Samsung Galaxy S6 and Apple’s iPhone.

galaxy s6 vs iphone 6

Background Check:

Samsung started the Galaxy Series for Android powered smartphones and later it came as the main revenue source for the smartphone lineup and Galaxy S series is the flagship device series of the Samsung.

Apple started producing smartphones in 2007 and since then many advancements came in and now iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus are the latest ones.

Let’s Start:

Samsung Galaxy S6 was launched at MWC 2015 with its new metallic design and mobile payment system, not to mention switching from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor to their own proprietary components, the Galaxy S6 has a lot in common with the iPhone 6. We took a look at the similarities and differences between Samsung and Apple’s flagships and revealed, which is doing it better.

iPhone 6 was launched on April 17th with all new processor and also Apple launched its bigger version, iPhone 6 Plus.

Design and Build:

iphone 6 design

Samsung and Apple both tried to gave premium look to their respective devices. Samsung Galaxy S6 in an effort to create the same premium feel as the iPhone 6. The end result is both good and bad as well as being incredibly divisive.

  • Galaxy S6 – 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8 mm (5.64 x 2.77 x 0.27 in) and 138g (4.86 oz)
  • iPhone 6 – 138.1 x 67 x 6.9mm (5.44 x 2.64 x 0.27in) and 129g (4.55oz)

Samsung Galaxy S6 is embedded with sleeker styling than the S5, and more importantly, better materials, thanks to the metal frame and glass backing. Samsung has matte aluminum alloy frame and Gorilla Glass 4 on the front and back.

Apple iPhone 6 have soft, rounded corners and a curved glass screen that melds smoothly into the thin metal body of the device. The volume buttons on the left side of the device are now pill-shaped, and the power button is located on the right side of the device for easier one-handed use.

galaxy s6

If we take look at both the designs then both of them are crafted to give users a grip, style and premium look. The most beautiful Galaxy ever, Samsung has aluminium frame with Gorilla Glass sides, while retaining its signature design language. Apple has long been a master of design, but the iPhone 6 has been rocked by so-called ‘bendgate’ with users able to bend them in half.

Hardware:

Samsung Galaxy S6 is powered by a 64-bit 14nm Samsung Exynos 7 Octa processor. Four cores run at 1.5GHz and four run at 2.1GHz. The S6 also bakes in wireless charging support and compatibility with a new version of the Gear VR virtual reality accessory.

The iPhone 6 line sports 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM while the new Samsung S6 series packs in a whopping 3GB of next-gen LPDDR4 RAM. That’s three times the RAM–and its more advanced RAM to boot.

In new Galaxy S6, Samsung has incorporated better fingerprint sensor which works perfectly just by holding finger on it. Similarly iPhone’s sensor works like that. Further the Samsung has opted to support both the WPC and PMA standards (including Qi) for wireless charging so that you don’t need a specific wireless charging pad.

Storage Wise Samsung offers Galaxy S6 in 32, 64, or 128GB models where Apple opts for 16, 64, or 128GB storage options in the iPhone 6.

Here Samsung throttles way ahead but also we all know Apple’s iPhone works perfectly on that much hardware.

Slimmer design means the 2550mAh battery is smaller than the S5’s 2800mAh. The battery can no longer be removed but charges
wirelessly and much faster. The iPhone 6 only has a 1810mAh battery, which charges using Apple’s propriety Lightning cable. The operating system lacks the battery-saving modes Samsung device’s boast.

Display:

galaxy s6 display

The iPhone 6 is large with its 4.7 inches screen size. The display resolution has been kept high enough for a “Retina” quality of sharpness – it clocks up a 1334×750 pixel resolution at 326 pixels-per-inch (ppi). Samsung hasn’t increased the display size but has increased the dpi and resolution of the AMOLED display to 2,560×1,440 pixels, a density of 577 pixels per inch (ppi). Here the metrics speak about the devices and you will get more detail and sharper images in the Galaxy S6.

Camera:

Both Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge take breathtaking photos in day light. Samsung’s colours are a little over saturated while the iPhone takes more natural albeit colder pictures. Pictures shot with the Galaxy S6 edge have a warmer colour temperature that makes them more likeable.

apple iphone 6 camera

iPhone 6 can capture up to 240FPS while video recording for extremely slow and stylish videos, the S6 is limited to 120FPS. But at the same time, the S6 can shoot videos in 4K resolution while the iPhone 6 is limited to FullHD.

Samsung Galaxy S6 has a 16MP rear camera has a dual-flash, while the front has 5MP. It can shoot 4K video and has lots of image-enhancing features.

On paper Apple trails behind Samsung, with an 8MP rear camera and 1.2MP on the front. However, the reality is that the iPhone still
shoots a great picture.

galaxy s6 camera

So Samsung seems to be taking the title from here also.

Software:

The software on each device is optimized to run best on its hardware, so you can definitely expect a fluid experience on either one. It is the most important aspect where customer chooses device. The iPhone 6 is running iOS 8 and offers a highly optimized feature set with a very minimalist approach.  On other Hand Android 5.0 Lollipop is running on the top of Galaxy S6. There are lot of extra features that Android holds and you won’t get it on the iOS.

There is a lot of customization on Android but on iOS you won’t get that much. So you can see now customer have to make decision whether he want to go with which operating system. There’s a lot of difference in both the operating systems. Android offers lot more features than iOS 8, including the option to add multiple users, the ability to cast the screen to a separate device without the need for installing a third-party app and making calls from the lock screen.

Verdict:

Samsung’s flagship is clearly light-years ahead of Apple in terms of specs, with a brighter, richer screen, faster processor and longer-lasting battery. However, Apple has proven time and time again that usability often counts for more than what’s under the hood, so time will tell whether the S6’s sleek new look and streamlined OS can win over fans.

Here’s a screenshot that reveals internals of the LG G4 and it is going to be powered with Snapdragon 808. This information was leaked few days ago also when a benchmark app reveals the data about the device. Now we have another confirmation about the processor that is fitted in the device.

As per the new screenshot leak from a twitter user, @iziHaterz it is going to be powered with the Snapdragon 808. If this is true that there are many question that come up. First is why LG is using Snapdragon 808 in its flagship device if they are using Snapdragon 810 in the LG G Flex?

The 808 is a hex-core processor, which is 64-bit and consists of a quad-core Cortex-A53 and a dual-core Cortex-A57.
