Sony Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ Compact and Xperia XZ Premium starts getting Android 9.0 Pie

Sony starts rolling out Android 9.0 Pie update to its flagship devices Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ compact, and the Xperia XZ Premium. Google has released Android Pie back in August 2018. Since then there is a race between manufacturers to update their devices to Android as soon as possible. Although Sony makes it a little late, still this is good news for the users of these devices. As there many flagships of major manufacturers which did not get the update till now.

The update comes with the build number 47.2.A.0.306.  It is packed with all the Android Pie goodies like the Adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, app actions, Intuitive navigation, Dashboard to see where you’re spending time, App timers, Notification enhancements for messaging, etc. Along with all these features the update also contains the Android security patch for the month of October 2018.

Just in case you are looking for it, Sony has not adopted Android Pie gesture navigation, unfortunately. Hopefully, this will come in a later release. As the update is rolling out over the air, so it might take some time to reach each and every one. you can also check it manually by going through the settings>>about phone>> software updates.

Note: Do charge your phone atleast up to 50 % before start installing the update.
