Xiaomi Box 4K (2nd gen) could arrive soon, passes FCC certification

After the successful launch of the Mi Box 4K in 2019, Xiaomi is getting ready to launch a new Xiaomi Box 4K (2nd gen). The device has appeared on the official website of FCC Certification (via GoogleChromecast). There is no official confirmation from the company, but we expect the device to launch soon. Here are the technical details about this device.

The device has appeared on the listing with the model number MDZ-28-AA. The design and features almost remain identical to their previous one. The device will be able to support 4K streaming quality and as usual, supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 5G. However, the previous models of the device also supported 4K.

The in-box contents of the device include a Xiaomi Box, a remote control, an HDMI extender cable, and a 5W power supply (5V-1A).

The device is expected to compete against Chromecast with Google TV in Europe, Indian and the countries where Xiaomi has prominent market.

More information is likely in the coming few weeks. The previous generation of this device had Hybrid audio output but not Dolby Vision. Also, the user faces issues with HDMI-CEC too. And another appreciating part about the previous generation device is that it comes with no bloatware. So, we hope Xiaomi will keep the good stuff and improve what they lack.
