Android Pie update is now available for Mi Box S

Xiaomi Mi Box S is one of the cheapest Android boxes available in the market. It was launched in the US in October of 2018 with Android Oreo. And now, after over a year from its release, the device is finally receiving the impending Android Pie update.

Mi Box S offers a lot of features including 4K streaming for its asking price and hence it has been popular since its release. Like any other Android TV device of 2018, the Mi Box S was launched with Android Oreo, even though Android Pie was already out. Anyways, Xiaomi promised to update it and keeping up with it, the company started beta testing in October. So far, the device has received three beta builds and the last one was just released last month. Following that, the company has finally started rolling out a stable update to all the users.

The stable Android Pie update for Mi Box S comes with the same build number as the last beta build, which happens to be 2231. That means Xiaomi is simply rolling out the third and the last beta build as a stable update to everyone. The new update apart from bumping the Android version to 9.0 Pie, it also adds support for Amazon Prime Video, which was absent on the device since its release. Additionally, the update also brings November 2019 security patch.

The update weighs only 624.3MB in size and is being seeded out over the air to all the users. Anyways, if you haven’t received it yet, then download it from the link provided at the end of this post.
