Android platform distribution for October 2018 arrives with no slice of Pie

Google has officially posted the updated numbers of Android distribution with no sign of Android Pie on the chart. After several weeks of being launched, Android 9.0 Pie has still not made it tot he Android distribution chart. It may take some more time to reflect the Android 9.0 Pie on the chart.

The chart shows the minimal change of even 0.1%, though it seems that the Android Pie has not even reached that much market share. The stats till October 26th shows an increase of 0.6% in Android 8.0 oreo usage. Similarly, Android 8.1 Oreo gathered some steam and reached 7.5 percent with an increase of over 1.7% within a month.

All other Android versions have significantly witnessed a decline in their market share. Google Android 4.0, 4.1, 4.3, 4.4 is considerably down to maximum -0.2%. While Lollipop fell -0.4% in the overall combines share. Android 7.0 Nougat noticed a change of -0.9 percent in comparison with the old figures.

Overall, OEMs are rolling out new updates at a very slow pace. We can understand the scenario as Android is available on various devices, so sometimes its not possible for OEMs to roll out the update for every device, unlike Apple. Further, there are many different versions and technical limitations of those devices which further add it to non-compliance with n ewer Android versions.

Well, which device do you own, have you reicved Android Pie or Oreo on it?
