December Security patch starts rolling out on Essential Phone

The first phone with display notch Essential Phone starts getting the December Android security patch. The update is also packed with Gesture support for third party launchers. Earlier at the time of Android 10 roll out, the gesture support for third party launchers was not available.

The update for Essential Phone PH-1 comes with Build number QQ1A.191205.017. The size of the phone is about 40.3 MB. This also suggests that there are not any major features included in it other than the general bug fixes. The update is currently rolling out, and it will reach each and every user in a couple of day’s time. 

For a reminder, Essential Phone is launched in August 2019. It features a 5.7 IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with a notch. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Soc and paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The essential phone is also powered by Adreno 540 GPU.  

The Essential phone is packed with a dual-camera setup at the back, which includes 13MP + 13MP camera sensors. On the front side, it is packed with an 8MP camera sensor. The phone is packed with a 3040 mAh battery with 27W fast charging.
