Future HTC Devices To Get Android Updates For 2 Years

Yesterday, HTC ran a Reddit AMA for some Question and Answers session regarding company’s working. In the conversation HTC told that its future flagship devices will get Android updates for next 2 years.

HTC has been in an arguments with customers on not proving major updates to its flagship device like the One X, One X+ and One S. So now HTC has promised to support “all new flagship devices going forward with all major Android updates for two years,” according to the HTC US product team in a Reddit thread. Here’s what they said on Reddit:

We don’t have a perfect track record regarding updates along with almost every phone manufacturer, but we’re dedicated to bring more transparency to the process and doing our best to deliver updates as quickly as we can. Given the immense resource requirements for updates we can’t solve all our past issues, but today we are making a commitment to support all new flagship devices going forward with all major Android updates for 2 years after their release date.

Hope to see what HTC has said yesterday to provide updates. What do you think?
