Galaxy S8/S8+ Android Oreo update starts hitting non-beta users in India

Around three days ago, Samsung with all its glory seeded the Samsung Experience 9.0 based on Android Oreo 8.0 in couple of markets. But, the updates were just confined to the Galaxy S8/S8+ users who were registered under Beta Program. Nevertheless, the South-Korean firm has now started a wider roll out. Which includes vast number of non-beta Galaxy S8/S8+ users in India.

Currently, in our knowledge, Indian Galaxy S8/S8+ non-beta users are getting the chance to taste the Oreo for the first time. According to some sources the update is hitting other markets as well such as Germany, Turkey, Norway, the UAE, and Belgium.

The Android Oreo update now live on Galaxy S8/S8+ in India weighs in at hefty 1.3 GB in size. It’s noteworthy here that the update that had hit beta users just recently were only around 400 MB in size. Well, the baseband version remains the same as the update rolled out to beta testers, i.e G950FXXU1CRAP/G955FXXU1CRAP.

Do we need to say, the major update brings all the bells and whistles of core Android Oreo. Along with other plenty of Samsung’s proprietary customization branded as Samsung Experience 9.0. Samsung has also packed the latest February Security patch within the update package. For some it should be a bummer to know that Samsung didn’t incorporate the Project Treble support for the devices.
