Google Cloud and Dropbox announces integration with Hangouts, Gmail and Drive apps

Finally Dropbox announces integration with cross platform apps. The company collaborate with Google Cloud to integrate with Google Hangouts, Gmail , Drive Apps, Sheets, Slides, etc. It was the long awaited feature from Dropbox.

After these integrations which will be accessible for everyone. And this feature enables Dropbox User in the following tasks.

  • Users will be able to create, open, and edit Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides files that live in Dropbox.
  • From within Dropbox, users will have the option to open and edit compatible files directly in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
  • Dropbox Business administrators will be able to manage Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides files just like any other content that lives in Dropbox.

Tony Lee, VP of Engineering at Dropbox Says

We want to make it easy for our users to work across devices with the tools they love, This partnership with Google Cloud is one more way we’re creating a unified home for content and the conversations around it. We’re excited to work with Google to break down silos and centralize the information teams rely on every day.

However, It is just an announcement. Company says these integrations are expected to be available starting in the second half of 2018.
