HTC smartphone spotted on Geekbench running Android Oreo and Snapdragon 625

HTC might be heading to unveil a new mid-ranger smartphone boarding the popular Snapdragon 625 chipset. Since an HTC device bearing the moniker, HTC 2QW51 has hit the Geekbench running Android Oreo 8.0. Apparently, the Taiwanese firm may be testing the potential of the device ahead of its commercial launch.

The Geekbench listing of the purported HTC device was first noticed by a reputed leakster Roland Quandt. He’s made the news public through his Twitter account.

As per the Geekbench test, the Qualcomm SD 625 clocked at 1.80GHz present on the HTC 2QW51 has managed to score a single-core score of 770. Whereas, in multi-core testing the device has attained 3893 points. Moreover, the device is backed by 3GB of RAM. Overall, the scores are good for a device powered by efficient and powerful SD 625(MSM 8953) chipset.

Since benchmarking is mainly concerned about chipset performance on an OS, the listing doesn’t contain additional hardware info of the device. That means, for the time being we’ve to be satisfied by these minor revealings. But, we can also expect some handful of leaks and renders revolving around the device budding as the days pass. Nevertheless, keep in mind that the benchmark results can be easily fooled by a simple build.prop edit. Hence, don’t blindly believe on it unless more concrete evidence or official confirmation from the manufacturer arises.
