Moto E 3rd Gen Won’t Get Android 7.0 Nougat

Motorola has confirmed that they are not going to rollout Android 7.0 Nougat to the Moto E 3rd generation. This is going to be for the second time that new Moto E series device won’t get update to newest Android.

In 2013, Motorola similarly didn’t provided the update to Moto E first generation device. Today, Motorola updated their Software Update Page with the notification that “This device will remain on Android 6 Marshmallow.” Motorola has not provided any specific reason for making Moto E sticked to the Marshmallow.

Motorola may have not rolled the update due to lesser sales then expectations. Guys who owned this 4 month old device can get the Nougat via Custom ROMs on your own risk.
