Moto X4 Android One Edition getting Android Oreo 8.0

Another day, another Android Oreo update from the house of Motorola. It’s yesterday, when two of the Moto devices – Moto Z and Moto Z2 Force received the major update, and today the same is hitting Moto X4 Android One Edition. The OTA update arrives on the Moto X4 carrying build number OPW27.1.

The changelog of the update looks similar to that of Moto Z. That being said, the update, brings the latest Android Oreo 8.0 goodies and the latest security patch for the Android One Moto X4. Since the device is an Android One compliant, the update ought to have much similarity to that of seen on Pixel phones.

Upon installation of Android Oreo update, the Moto X4 Android One edition users could see the following changes or improvements:

  • Adaptive Notification dots or Icon Badges.
  • Picture-In-Picture Mode
  • Improved Performance and Stabillity
  • New User-Interface similar to Pixel UI and much more

Well, as far as the standard or non-Android One Moto X4 is considered, the update hasn’t seeded yet to the device. However, it won’t take so long to be available on this standard edition as well. Only the thing is, we can’t predict the exact time frame.

Moreover, the next in Moto Line-up to be blessed with Oreo should be either Moto X Play or Moto Z Play. Hence, we could see the update extending to more Moto devices in coming days.
