Oppo Reno 8 arrives on Geekbench with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC

The Reno 8 series by Oppo seems to be in the works. The lineup could include three smartphones: Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, as well as Reno 8 SE or Reno 8 Lite. The smartphones are rumored to launch in May, but there’s no word from the company yet. In the meantime, the vanilla model has made an appearance on the Geekbench benchmarking website. Here’s what e collected from the listing about the Oppo Reno 8.

According to the Geekbench portal, the vanilla Oppo Reno 8 will bear the model number PGAM10. The device has managed to score 712 in the single-core round and 2385 in the multi-core test. In addition, the website reveals some key details, including processor, storage option, operating system, and more.

The Oppo Reno 8 will draw power from a processor codenamed taro with a peak clock speed of 2.36GHz. This could be the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset which is rumored to debut with the Reno 8 series. Also, the listing mentions an 8GB RAM model. Although we expect the company to introduce more storage configurations as well.

On the software front, the Geekbench listing confirms the presence of Android 12 out of the box. This further will be tossed with a layer of ColorOS 12.1 on top.

Besides, the Oppo Reno 8 is tipped to feature a 6.55-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The other specifications could include a 4,500 mAh battery, an 80W fast charging support, a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear camera, and a 32MP front snapper.
