Xiaomi’s Mi 3 Sold Out In 17 Minutes

17 minutes was all it took for Chinese smartphone manufacturers Xiaomi’s first phone in Malaysia to sell out.

Xiaomi’s $250 smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 3 went for sale on 20th May in Xiaomi’s web store in Malaysia and the phones sold out in less than 20 minutes. And if rumors are to be believed, 4,000 units were sold within 17 minutes though this digit lacks official confirmation. These numbers might seem small but considering that Xiaomi is yetto bring its bet smartphone, the RedMi to Malaysian market yet, these numbers seem quite impressive.

Xiaomi’s president held a press conference on 19th May and said that the delay in launching the RedMi was due to the fact that its successor, the RedMi 1S will be launched next month. The RedMi 1S will come with a Snapdragon 4oo processor. Xiaomi has plans to expand its market outside China, and it has been quite successful so far is the Asian countries that it has stepped into.

LG G3 Specs Leaked Again

The LG G3 was not one of the best guarded phones. There were numerous encounters of LG’s upcoming smartphone with cameras which revealed almost all the specs of the upcoming device. And after another leak, we have our hands on the list of almost all the specs of the upcoming smartphone. It seems like these photos were clicked of a presentation of the smartphone at a pre-release exclusive event.

From the leaked images, we came to know a lot about the device, the device would offer a 5.5″ QHD IPS screen and would have a 13MP shutter on its back and a 2.1MP camera on its front. Under the hood we would have a Snapdragon 801 chipset accompanied by 3GB of RAM. The internal memory could hold 32GB worth of data but there’s no sign of an external microSD card slot. But this was the Korean version, the international version might get one. The device would also support LTE and LTE-Advanced.

The device would be powered by a 3000mAh Li-ion battery and also a 1W speaker would be present.

HTC One M8 Prime Leaked Images Shows Raised Camera Lens

After the Duo-camera technology received its share of criticism on the HTC One M8 and HTC One, there have been high expectations from HTC to get it right in the widely anticipated smartphone, HTC One M8 Prime. HTC One M8 Prime is the higher-end sibling of HTC One (M8).

Recently, leaked photos on HTC One M8 Prime popped up online from popular phone leaker @evleaks. The images show a 360 degree look at the smartphone with several images from different angle.

A zoomed in photo of the device shows a propped-out camera lens, raised higher than the rest of the body. The camera is HTC One M8 Prime too uses duo-camera technology, akin HTC One and HTC One M8.

QuickCircle Case Announced For LG G3

The QuickCircle case for LG G3 was officially announced recently. And if anyone’s wondering when did the phone come out, its not out yet. The phone is state for its release on 27th May.

This might seem a bit awkward but the case for LG’s upcoming flagship smartphone is out before the phone itself. As is clear from the photos, the case has a circular window on its front that lets you do almost everything from making calls, messaging, accessing the camera, music player, health apps and settings.

The QuickCircle case will be available in 5 colours: Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Aqua Mint and Indian Pink. The case also uses wireless charging technology on the phone.

The QuickCircle case had received mixed reviews earlier, with some people complaining about dust-circles appearing on the screen. Will this QuickCircle be any better than the previous ones? We’re yet to find out.

Lenovo Golden Warrior S8 Revealed

Golden Warrior S8, Lenovo’s upcoming smartphone has been detailed, thanks to an online retailer. Also, the price of the device has been revealed.

The device offers a 5.3″ LTPS screen offering a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The screen is protected by scratch resistant Gorilla glass. The device  is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MTK6592M chipset clocked at 1.4GHz accompanied by 2GB of RAM. the device features a 13MP shutter on the back with LED and a 5MP camera on the front. The device has 16GB of on-board memory which is expandable via an external mircoSD card slot. Unfortunately, the device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. Also, the smartphone packs a 2,000 mAh battery which gives 2 days worth of stand by.  Going for connectivity options, the evice offersBluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct , Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 3G support.

The device comes with a pric tag of $200 though there is no conformation on the official date for the release.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Active Gets An Active key

Samsung Galaxy S5 Active has been in news for quite some time, and this time its the ‘Active Key’ that has bought it into news. As capacitive touchscreens dont work under water, the ‘Active Key’ lets you access some particular function underwater.

The ‘Active Key’ function can be customized to open whatever you want. By default, the feature guides you to the activity App zone where a compass and a barometer will be displayed on -screen. The Activity Zone also has shortcuts for a flashlight and a stopwatch. A long press of the key also guides you to the camera. these functions can be customized to suit one’s need.

A source claims that the screen on the Active version of the Samsung’s Galaxy S5 will have a 5.1″ screen instead of 5.2″ as had been rumored earlier. Also, the Active version is rumored to be a little thinner (8.1 mm) than the regular GS5.

Micromax Unite 2 announced with Android 4.4.2 KitKat

Micromax recently announced its entry-level smartphone, the Unite 2. The device comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat and is priced at a reasonable Rs. 6999 ($120).

The Micromax Unite 2 is the only smartphone from Micromax to offer Android 4.4.2 KitKat yet. The device is powered by a MT6582M chipset and a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz. To accompany the processor, the device comes with 1GB of RAM and 4GB internal memory that is expandable  upto 32GB via an external microSD card. The device also features a 5MP auto-focus camera on its back with a flash and a 2MP shutter on its front. The 4.7″ IPS WVGA display offers a density of (800×480) pixels. To keep the device running, a 2,000 mAh battery is provided. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0, Dual-sim connectivity, 3G connectivity and FM radio. The device will be available in 4 colors: white, green, dark gray and red.

Galaxy S5 in Copper-Gold Colour to Arrive In U.S. On May 30th

For all the people who wanted to get a Samsung Galaxy S5 but were not satisfied with the colour options available, you have a reason to rejoice. Samsung announced that the Gold-Copper variant of Galaxy S5 will be hitting the U.S. shores. he smartphone will however only be available of carriers as of now.

Samsung’s flagship device will be available on all the major carriers in the U.S., namely: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and U.S. Cellular. Verizon however will not be selling the device directly but it will make the device available through 3rd party retailers. The price tag for this gold-variant is expected to be at par with that of the other coloured variants. Sprint however is offering a gold Samsung HM1900 Bluetooth headset free with the device.

If you’re willing to buy the device-off contract, get ready to shell out $699 while it will be available for $99 on a 2-year contract.

Red HTC One M8 Made Available in Taiwan

The HTC One M8 has been greatly anticipated in the market for quite some time now with HTC deciding to roll out its flagship smartphone in various colors. Images of the device in blue, pink and red have been doing the rounds for quite some time now.

And the wait is over, only if you live in Taiwan. Yesterday, HTC released the red variant of the HTC One M8 in Taiwan. And it looks like this res version will not be made available to the outside world anytime soon, despite the fact that rumors suggested US telecommunications carrier Verizon would make the handset available in red color on a contract. Also at the release of the device in Taiwan, HTC gave people outside Taiwan something to cheer about as a 360 degree view of the device is available for the world to see.

As of the other variants, only the blue colour is up for pre-orders in the UK via Mobile fun.

Galaxy S5 Prime & Google Play Edition Pass Bluetooth SIG

Samsung Galaxy S5 is out for some time now, and rumors of a higher end version named the ‘Galaxy S5 Prime’ and another ‘Google Play Edition’ too have been around for quite some time now. And now, news is out that both these devices have received Bluetooth SIG certification.

If rumors are to be believed, Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime would feature a QHD display, better specs than its predecessor the Galaxy S5 and a body cast fully in metal. The Prime would be numbered SM-G906 and would be available in five colors, namely black, white, gold, blue and pink. Another variant of the GS5 numbered SM-G900FG hints to the Google Play Edition being in production line, the extra ‘G’ referring to the Google Play Edition.

The GS5 Google Play Edition will be made available across the globe but with stock Android. There is no news yet on the pricing of either of the variants.
