Redmi K30 5G may debut in early 2020

The Redmi K30 is under the leak radar for a while now. Even the company itself has confirmed the device multiple times in the past few weeks. And now, Lu Weibing, the General Manager of Redmi posts on Weibo that Redmi will be a 5G pioneer in 2020 hinting the Redmi K30 debut in the process.

Last month, Redmi, now a sub-brand of Xiaomi, confirmed the Redmi K30 to arrive with 5G support. The brand also teased the phone’s display with double punch-holes as seen on Galaxy S10+. A few days back, the company once again dropped more information regarding the device that it will work on both SA(Standalone) and NSA(Non-standalone) 5G networks. And now, the brand’s General Manager himself confirms the potential early 2020 launch.

As far as specifications of Redmi K30 is concerned, not much is known yet except for the fact it will be powered by an upcoming MediaTek processor with 5G modem. This new chipset from MediaTek based on 7nm with cortex-A77 cores will enable 5G on smartphones costing as low as 2,000 Yuan(~280). As of now, 5G is only available on premium smartphones with Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 and X55 modems. We expect more OEMs to launch a vast number of phones with 5G support at an affordable price from early 2020.
