Unknown J series Android Phone spotted on GFXBench, probably J3 (2018) variant

A new Samsung smartphone bearing the model number SM-J337 was spotted on GFXBench today. The listing reveals some key components of the handset which is believed to be a J3 (2018) variant.

The closest model number to it belongs to the J3 (2017) Emerge launched in the US through major carriers. Remarkably, it is labelled SM-J327. However, this launch was in January 2017. It was actually a Snapdragon variant of the J3 (2017) which was launched 6 months later outside of the US.

This purported J3 (2018) sports an unnamed quad-core Exynos chip with 1.5 GHz speed and a Mali-G71 GPU. Also, it runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and has a 5-inch HD (720 x 1280) display. According to GFXBench, it comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage. There is a pretty basic 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front snapper placed at the front of the device.

Hence, it may be that this variant launches as a low-end J3 (2018) Exynos model at the beginning of 2018. While the regular variant launches later on mid-year in 2018.
