Xiaomi’s forthcoming flagship to house an In-Screen Fingerprint Scanner and a Notch

Xiaomi has newly launched its Mi MIX 2S smartphone which is the successor to old Mi MIX 2. We were expecting the Mi7 handset but Xiaomi has kept the specifications flagship, however, this time we are getting it in the form of Mi MIX 2S. Now some new revelations about the brand have been made and they are coming from the direction of XDA developers this time. According to them the upcoming handset from the Xiaomi will come with an In-Screen Fingerprint Scanner and a notch. So without wasting any time let’s jump to the detailed information.

The source has deeply scanned the firmware and they came up with the two versions of it namely dipper and the dipperold. According to them, “dipperold” is the firmware associated with Mi7 whereas “dipper” is associated with the Mi7 Plus. After performing complete analysis, we can say that the Fingerprint Scanner supplied for the leaked handsets will be supplied by Goodix and Synaptics. In case you forgot Synaptics is the brand that has supplied In-Screen Fingerprint Scanners for the Vivo X20 Plus UD.

According to rumors, Xiaomi is busy in the development of two new devices due to which they have launched the Mi MIX 2S for now. In the snippet of code they have found “goodix_fod” keyword and according to their perspective fod stands for Fingerprint on Display. Another handset codenamed “Ursa” is also disclosed and it closely shares its specs with the above discussed “dipper”. Ursa is rumored to come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. There is an In-Screen Fingerprint Scanner, and a mammoth 4000mAh battery. These two handsets are somehow related but at present, we are not in a position to find further information about the following devices.

As per XDA, “dipper” is the handset which is currently in development whereas “dipperold” is the handset for which the development has been not in the process for some reason. For the sake of general users, we can say that this time Xiaomi will bring two Flagships Mi7 and Mi7 Plus with an iPhone X like notch, Mi7 Plus is expected to house an In-Screen Fingerprint Scanner whereas Mi7 may come with a regular Fingerprint Scanner. In case you know some more information about the devices, sharing it in the comment box would be praised.
