Android Wear, TV and Auto Will Not Have OEM Skins

It’s damn good news for the users who face too many glitches on OEM skins while using the device. As per the latest news from folks over at ArsTechnica it seems that OEM who will be using the Android Auto, Android TV and Android Wear systems can’t apply their own skins on the devices.

Source found few relative things like firmware versions and build versions in both LG G watch and Gear Live smartwatches. At first sight it seems unusual as we get different versions of firmware and build numbers on our phones and tablets. So in order to confirm this ArsTechnica confirmed about this from Google. In reply Google engineering director David Burke confirmed that “the UI is more part of the product in this case. We want to just have a very consistent user experience, so if you have one TV in one room and another TV in another room and they both say Android TV, we want them to work the same and look the same.”

Further David confirmed that “The device manufacturers can brand it, and they might have services that they want to include with it, but otherwise it should be the same.”

So its now confirmed that we will have Vanilla Android experiecnce on new customised versions of the Androoid – Android Wear, Android TV and Android Auto.

Also Google mentioned that they will manage the update on the devices “more like Chrome on the desktop.” So it seems that Google is now much more serious then ever for its Android ecosystem.
