Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL) starts receiving new software update with VoLTE support

Asus has started rolling an over the air (OTA) update to ZenFone 3 Max smartphones in India. The update is being rolled-out for smartphones with model number ZC553KL and brings VoLTE support along with some system upgrades. Earlier in February this year, the company rolled out this update to a series of Zenfone 3 devices. The update comes with version number 14.0200.1708.324 and weighs over 100MB in size.

With VoLTE support, the smartphone is now compatible with Reliance Jio’s VoLTE calling service in India. It definitely brings a sigh of relief for Zenfone 3 Max users on Jio’s network, who can now enjoy the most affordable voice and data services offered by the company.

This update also brings performance improvements, bug-fixes and other minor system enhancements to your device. Since the update is being sent OTA in several phases, it may take sometime to reach all Zenfone 3 Max users in India. It is advisable to wait for a week or so to allow the system to complete the auto-push. However, you always have an option to check-out the update by heading to  Settings > About > Software updates.

Before you start downloading the update, make sure that your device has at least 50 percent of charge left for effortless downloading. Also, please connect your device to a trusted Wi-Fi connection or strong cellular data network.
