Hangouts 5.0 Update Brings Improvements And Fixes

Google has rolled out new version Hangouts 5.0 with lot of bug fixes and performance improvements. There’s no official changelog provided but we have concluded the changes as per the reports from users after getting update.

Update is not live in most of the countries but we hope soon it will. As per the sources there’s a fix for broken gif images, and comes with a splash screen. There are lot more fixes that got into the update and made Hangouts app much more smoother. Here’s the table of lags:

• Sending messages lag: Gone.
• Loading conversation lag: Gone.
• Main screen conversation update lag: Reduced.
• Hangouts splash screen: Included.
• Pop-up ‘signed in as’: Now in white.
• GIFs: They work!
• Dogfood icon: Removed.

Hangouts v5.0 is now available in the Play Store but users who can’t wait for the official upload can sideload the app by by downloading it from APK Mirror.
