HTC Tops J.D Powers Lists as Highest Satisfying Android Manufacturer

Apple unsurprisingly topped the list for the seventh straight quarter, we still look forward to seeing where Android manufacturers rank among themselves. HTC was the leading Android OEM with a score of 798 out of 1,000 and Samsung following with 769 (lower than the industry average). The study focused on aspects including design, ease of operation, features and performance, obtaining an overall score for each of the world’s top smartphone manufacturers. Of course, us blog and forum dwellers don’t account for much of HTC’s overall fanbase so cries for change are probably more overstated than they really are. Samsung managed to score just below them at 769, and Motorola earned themselves a score of 758, both very respectable scores.

Smartphones have another problem, the company added. Twenty-one percent of current smartphone owners reported experiencing a software or device malfunction. That contributed to a 77-point satisfaction gap between customers who experienced software malfunctions and those who did not, the company said.
