Huawei P10 and P10 Plus starts getting Android Oreo 8.0 Update

Huawei has started rolling-out the stable Android Oreo 8.0 for its P10 series smartphones. This come after Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, Glory 9 and Glory V9 were just recently blessed with the same. To be precise, the major update is hitting Huawei P10 full network version(VTR-AL00/VTR-TL00), Huawei P10 Plus full network version(VKY-AL00/VKY-TL00) and other Chinese P10/P10 Models.

All goodies of latest Android Oreo are reaching the P10’s with EMUI 8.0 B321 upgrade build version. Well, it goes without saying that, the Android Oreo for Huawei devices is layered by the latest EMUI 9. The custom UI packs extra features or tweaks that wouldn’t be available in Pure Android Oreo by Google.

Just as a refresher, the Huawei flagships P10/P10 Plus were launched in February this year. The HiSilicon Kirin 960 powered devices boot Android Nougat 7.0 pre-installed, which is skinned by then latest EMUI 5.1. And now, to the new EMUI 8.0 based on Android Oreo 8.0.

As the latest Android OS is falling upon the devices. It brings performance improvements, increased fluidity and energy saving features. Moreover, Huawei’s own personal voice assistant is also coming to the flagships as a part of it. The new update also caters improved management and updated Java API 8.0.

Although, the updates are currently limited to Chinese P10/P10 Plus handsets, it won’t take so long to be available in Global variants. We’ll be letting you know once the update hits other region as well. Till then, stay tuned with us.
