The latest software for the Huawei Nova 5, Nova 5i Pro, and Nova 5z can be identified by the firmware version to EMUI 10.1.0.102. As it is a minor bump in safety level, the changelog does not mention any major addition to the device. But internally, it strengthens the smartphone by securing it from various potential risks.

According to the Huawei documentation, the May patch enhances the system security by addressing 3 critical, 10 high, and 4 medium levels of CVE’s i.e; Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures.

If you are a Huawei Nova 5, Nova 5i Pro, or Nova 5z owner, you will receive the build soon as it is having a phase-wise rollout. Also, you can track it via the device’s Settings -> System & updates -> Software update -> Check for updates, click on Download and install if the patch is available for your handset.
Alternatively, you can flash the build from the Support app. To do this, open the Support app -> go-to service tab -> click update -> tap on check for updates and then download and install the update.
For your information, the Nova 5 series is also among several devices that are eligible to grab the HarmonyOS. The new operating system will roll out for the lineup in quarter four of 2021.
