Kodak Launched IM5 at CES 2015

Kodak, most of us have heard about the name when we talk about camera companies. No doubt company is a pioneer in camera manufacturing company, but today launched its first smartphone based on Android system at CES 2015. Company named its device as IM5 and will be launched first in Europe and later by the end of first quarter of the year, product will be available globally at a price tag of EUR 299 or $249.

This smartphone comes with 5 inches of display with resolution of 720×1280 pixel. smartphone is powered with 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor (unspecified version) , 1GB of RAM and 8 GB Internal Storage which is expandable upto 32 GB via microSD card. Handset runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS but company promised Android 5.0 lollipop update in future. IM5 comes with its own App store named “Apps” which is best suited for users and provide easy access to select apps. Along with its own app store, Google Play is also available in the handset with additional features that will help your friends and family through various functions. Coming to the most significant feature of the smartphone, its 13 MP camera. If you are looking for high quality camera under low price tag, this handset is a must try. Kodak being a camera manufacturing company, we expect that camera quality offered by the company will be satisfactory. Battery backup of the device is not disclosed by the company yet.

Kodak collaborated with BBuilt a British firm which has made most of the components of smartphone. CEO of Bullit said that –

“This is a phone for consumers who appreciate the value and heritage of the Kodak brand. It looks great, is easy to use and offers real value for money,”

Highlighting the camera quality and photographic ttechnologyof the smartphone, Eileen Murphy, VP Brand Licensing at Kodal added that- “Too many memories stay stuck on mobile phones, often because the process for sharing them is too complicated for users; that’s why we’ve partnered on the IM5, the first device in a range of mobile products that takes our heritage and experience in photographic technology and combines it with Bullitt’s expertise in designing high-quality devices for a specific target consumer,”
