Since Microsoft has discontinued development of their Windows Operating System for smartphones, they are concentrating more on their suite of apps for Android. The new update of OneNote brings the app version to 16.0.8827.2090. The new features that come with this update are app shortcuts, Office Lens and phone number sign in. All of which are most welcoming as they all come real handy in various scenarios.

Talking about app shortcuts, it includes Take a Note, Create a To-do-list, Insert a photo and Record audio. And the Office Lens integration helps users to scan a document using the camera of the app and save it from within the app itself. And last but not least, the phone number sign in will be helpful if you forget your password in any case.

Here, take a look at the official changelog provided by Microsoft in the Play Store.

  • OneNote is now integrated with Office Lens to provide scanning, cropping, and rotation of photos, documents, whiteboards, and business cards.
  • Press and hold the OneNote icon to quickly create different kinds of notes. (Supported for Android Version 7.1 and above)
  • No need to remember a password. Sign in to OneNote using just your phone number.
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements.

In case, if you are still not updated to the latest version, get the Microsoft OneNote app from the Play Store now.
