Moto X4 Amazon Prime and retail receiving Android 8.1 Oreo Update

Motorola and Amazon are now finally rolling out Android 8.1 update to the Moto X4. The normal variant of the Moto X4 has already received the update about a month ago. After, a delay of a considerable amount we are finally having the update rolling out for retail and Amazon Prime Moto X4 variants.

Android 8.1 packs most of the fixes of the bugs that were found in the Android 8.0 Oreo version. Also they have refined the features of Android 8.0 with new developer APIs and new UI tweaks. So, all the users of Moto X4 Amazon Prime and retail version are going to get these features after the update.

Talking about the technicality of the software update, it’s version is OPW 28.2 and packs May security patch. We suggest you to switch to WiFi network before proceeding for the update. Also, charge up your device before heading for the update.

There’s hardly any difference in both the retail and Amazon Prime variants. If we talk about Amazon Prime, then it carrier some bloatware apps from Amazon and is $20 cheaper than the retail Moto X4 version.

Already, Moto X4 has received the Android 8.0 update, so now it’s not a hefty update. Even the Moto X4 Android One edition is running on the Android 8.1 Oreo.

So, how many of you have started receiving the update?
