Motorola officially launched Moto X4 with rear dual-camera

Post several leaks and rumors down the line, Motorola has finally introduced Moto X4 in a launch event held at IFA 2017. Last year, Lenovo-owned company skipped Moto X series and introduced the new Moto Z series with modular capabilities. This year, however, Moto X4 made its way as an upper mid-range device that falls between Moto G and Moto Z series.

In context to specifications, Moto X4 sports a 5.2-inch 1080p display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The handset is powered by Snapdragon 630 chipset. The phone pairs with 3GB/4GB of RAM (depends on the region) and 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD card. The device is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging and will provide six hours of usage in just 15 minutes of charge.

Moto X4 comes with an elegant design and feels like a premium device. The smartphone’s major highlights are presence of dual-camera setup at the back, Amazon Alexa as a built-in assistant and Moto Key service that allows you to access password-secured websites with a single tap.

Specifically looking at the cameras, Moto X4 uses a 12-megapixel (f2.0, 1.4um) sensor with an 8-megapixel (f2.2, 1.12um) wide-angle sensor at the rear. The dual camera comes with features like phase-detection autofocus, dual-tone LED flash, bokeh effects, ultra-wide angle shot, background replacement, 4K video recording and more. The device packs a 16-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 lens and dual LED flash.

The smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat and will be available in Super Black and Sterling Blue color options. The new Moto X4 will be initially released in September in Europe, with a price tag of €399. The Europe release will be followed by a global launch later this fall.
