Samsung Galaxy A42 5G starts receiving April 2021 security patch

Samsung recently rolled out the Android 11 based OneUI 3.1 update to the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G. The company is now known for the frequent and timely software updates to its devices. The brand has already started sending out the April 2021 security patch to numerous devices such as the Galaxy A52 5G. The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G is the latest device to receive the April 2021 Security Patch update.

The newest build for the devices comes as firmware version A426BXXS1BUD3. As mentioned earlier, this update brings the April 2021 Security Patch to the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G. This security patch fixes around 30 critical vulnerabilities from Google. It also patches 21 additional vulnerabilities from Samsung. Therefore these security patches are essential to the privacy and safety of the user’s device and data.

The update is currently being rolled out in Asia, Europe, and the UK. In Europe, the update is being rolled to the nations of Germany, Greece, Portugal, Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain, Taiwan, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands. Samsung Galaxy A42 5G owners in these regions can manually check for the update by heading to Settings > Software Update. However, OTA updates are usually rolled out in batches. Hence it is advised to stay patient and wait for the update to reach your unit.
