Samsung Galaxy A5 2018 confirmed to come with 18:9 display via HTML 5 test

Samsung revamped the design of their flagship smartphones in 2017 with the new ‘Infinity Display’. Few weeks back, we had couple of leaks regarding the 2018 Galaxy A series smartphones. The renders clearly shows that these upcoming mid rangers will come with the same ‘Infinity Display’ like their bigger brothers. But, now an HTML 5 test of Galaxy A5 2018 confirms that it will come with the 18:9 display.

Most of the Chinese OEMs are now bringing the 18:9 displays to their budget and mid – rangers. Now, it seems like Samsung is trying to take on those with their better AMOLED panels. The HTML5 test of Galaxy A5 2018 describes it having 412 x 816 pixels which translates to 18:5:9 . The phone scored 517 out of 555 points for its Samsung Internet Browser v6.2  running on Android 7.1.1 . This means the A5 2018 will come with Nougat out of the box which is kind of bummer as Oreo is been out for few months.

According to previous leaks, the Galaxy A5 2018 will be powered by Exynos 7885 processor. It will come with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage with support for microSD card. It will sport an FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 . Hence, the fingerprint sensor will be placed on the back below the camera which is better than their flagships’ awkward positioning. Other features that will include are Bluetooth 5, IP68 rating, USB type-C port, Always on Display and Samsung Pay.
