Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime, J5 Prime, J5 and J3 starts getting Android security patch for July

Usually, the smartphone giants send security updates to their high end smartphones ignoring the mid end as well as the lower ones. The latest news update is that Samsung has sent it’s July security update to it’s mid end Galaxy J series. The smartphones which are set to get the July security patch update are Galaxy J7 Prime, J5 Prime, J5 2016 as well as J3 2016.

The smartphones are set to receive an OTA update which you can download as well as install it as soon as you receive it. The software update is for the following phones:

  • Samsung Galaxy J5 2016: J500FNXXS1BQG1
  • Samsung Galaxy J3 2016: J320FDDU0AQG1
  • Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime: G570MUBU1AQG1
  • Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime: G610FDXU1AQF1

Well, the updates are already out over the air. The users of the above mentioned phones must have received the update notification or might receive anytime in a day or two.

Apart from the security update, there are a few basic feature updates, bug fixes as well. Since it is a security patch the size of the update is not that big, so users can download it over your cellular data.

It is highly recommended to charge your smartphone more than 50%, before you download it. Well, even backup your phone data, before you update it. Just safety measures.
