Samsung recently launched their new phablet the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The phone at first look seems to be pretty awesome and ships with some great hardware configuration. So here is a short comparison of Note 3 with the dominating smartphone in the market which had the best hardware configuration, but now things seem to be changing. Have a look at some points below.

Here are the reasons to consider the Sony Xperia Z Ultra against the new Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

  • The Xperia Z Ultra is slimmer as compared to Note 3. The Xperia Z Ultra is 6.5 mm thick, while the Note 3 is about 8.3 mm thick.
  • Also the display of the Xperia Z Ultra is much bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The Xperia Z Ultra has a 6.4 inches of display while the Note 3 has only 5.7 inches of display.
  • The Xperia Z Ultra is IPS Certified, it is Dust and Water proof. Also it is water proof upto 1 meter,  and on the other hand the Note 3 does not.
  • The display of the Xperia Z Ultra is shatter proof and scratch resistant.

  • The display of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is better as compared to Xperia Z Ultra as Note 3 has a SUPER AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, while the Xperia Z Ultra has a Capacitive touchscreen.
  • The pixel density on the display of Samsung galaxy Note 3 is better than that of Xperia Z Ultra. Note 3 has pixel density of about 386 ppi, while the Xperia Z Ultra has about 344 ppi.
  • The internal memory of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is more than that of Xperia Z Ultra. THe Note 3 comes with two options of internal memory, 32/64 GB while the Xperia Z Ultra only comes with 16 GB of internal memory.
  • The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has more RAM than Z Ultra. Note 3 has 3 GB of RAM while the Xperia Z Ultra only has 2 GB of RAM.
  • The processor of Note 3 is also better than that of Xperia Z Ultra. The Note 3 LTE version has 2.3 GHz Quad Core processor, while the 3G model has 1.9GHz Quad Core Cortex A-15 with Quad Core 1.3 GHz Cortex A-7, and the Xperia Z Ultra comes with 2.2 GHz Quad Core Krait 400 processor.
  • Also the camera on the Note 3 is better than that of Xperia Z Ultra. The Note 3 has about 13 Megapixel camera while has a clicking resolution of about 4128X3096 pixels, while the Xperia Z Ultra only has 8 Megapixel of camera which has a resolution of about 3264X2448 pixels.
  • Also the front facing camera of Note 3 ( LTE Version) is capable of recording 1080p videos at 60fps, while the front facing camera of Xperia Z Ultra shoots on 30 fps.
  • And at last the battery on the Note 3 is also better than that of Xperia Z Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has 3200 mAh of battery while the Xperia Z Ultra has about 3050 mAh of battery power.

So this was a short comparison between the leading smartphone in the market, the Xperia Z Ultra which had been dominating the hardware configuration from a bit of time, and the new Samsung Galaxy Note which seems to be the new king.
