Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus starts getting March Security Patch

Samsung starts rolling out Android security patch for the month of March to Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Samsung Already rolled out this month security patch on its Galaxy Note 4, J1 Ace, Tab A (2016), Galaxy S5 Neo and Galaxy J3 2017. Coming back to this update March Security patch comes with the Firmware version G928FXXS4CRC4 on Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.

In Detail, The March security update contains fixes for 49 ‘CVEs’ –  Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures – released by Google for the Android OS. Samsung adds fixes further fixes here, which among other things better protect the drivers for USB and NFC connections. In addition, a vulnerable point in the software of the  Klemboard-edge panel is closed.

Although the device is 2 years older but there is a chance of getting Android 8.0 Oreo. But still there is not any info regarding Oreo Update. Although you can update your Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge Plus to Android Oreo with Custom ROM.

The update is rolling out as OTA so it might take some time to reach you. If still the update notification is not there on your phone just check it manually by going through the settings of your phone>>About Phone>>> Software updates. Note: Before installing the update do charge your phone up to atleast 50%.
