Xiaomi is working on a concept phone with quad-curved waterfall display

Earlier today, a Xiaomi spokesperson has confirmed that the company is working on a smartphone with a quad curved display. Just like the Mi Mix Alpha, this one is also a concept device. Xiaomi aims at providing a seamless experience with no borders via the new quad-curved waterfall display.

Other than the quad-curved display, the smartphone sans any ports or connectivity interface. It will also enable the smartphone fare-better at water-resistance. According to the image and video shared by Xiaomi, the smartphone might come with an under-display selfie camera. Xiaomi is already working on a 3rd generation under-display selfie camera, and this might be the first smartphone to come with this feature.

Xiaomi is trying to take full use of the curved display. All the status bar icons show up on the right curve of the device. For controlling the volume, the volume controls are present on either side of the curve. The image also reveals that Xiaomi had to file 46 different patents to bring the new concept phone. Its display is curved at 88° around the corners, making it the first of its kind.
