Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Note 5 and Redmi 5 global starts getting Stable Android 8.1 Oreo Update

Xiaomi starts rolling out stable Android 8.1 Oreo update to its Redmi Note 5 Pro and Note 5 global. As both the devices are same, they are receiving the same update i.e. MIUI 9.6.3. Few days back Xiaomi releases the MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM 8.8.16 for various devices. Although Redmi Note 5 Pro, Note 5 and Redmi 5 global are included in the list.

Coming back to this MIUI 9.6.3 update, It include all the goodies of Android 8.1 Oreo. Which includes Picture in Picture mode, auto fill, notification channels, new revamped settings app, new notification center and several others. Along with all these features the update also includes the latest Android security patch. There are some other improvements also like issues with fastboot are fixed, and adds performance improvements.

Now coming to the Xiaomi Redmi 5, It is receiving with MIUI 9.6.4. With this update the device gets the Android security patch for the month of July 2018. The update also includes the fixes for connectivity issues.

Updates on all the three phones are rolling out as OTA. So it may take some time to reach each and every user. Before starts downloading the update, switch on your Wifi network to avoid data charges. Do charge your phone upto 50 % before start installing the update.
