ZTE Maven 2 on AT&T starts receiving Android 7.1.1 Nougat update

In July last year, ZTE Maven 2 reckoned up AT&T’s lineup of budget smartphones. The device was initially released with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is now being updated to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The update arrives as build number Z831V1.0.0B29 for ZTE Maven 2.

The update comes with June security patch and weighs around 1.16GB in size. In order to be eligible for the latest update, you must have version Z831V1.0.0B19 installed on your device. Being a budget handset, the ZTE Maven 2 has nothing impressive to offer, and what else can you expect from a $40 smartphone when $800+ smartphones are already available.

The device, however, being updated to Android 7.1.1 Nougat brings a host of new features including split-screen mode, revamped notifications, improved Doze mode, and much more. Further, the update removes AT&T Address Book application and brings AT&T App Select instead.

The update is being sent over-the-air (OTA) and will soon arrive for all ZTE Maven 2 users on AT&T. You can always check for the update manually by heading to Settings > About Phone > Software update. As the update is quite sizable, we recommend you sufficiently charge your device and connect it to a trusted Wi-Fi.
