Android 4.4 Kitkat Struck With VPN bug

Developers over Google has misconfigured Android 4.4 VPN feature. As accoridng to the bug reporter there’s been a miscalculations in MSS or Maximum Segment Size.

AnyConnect users will experience High Packet Loss over their VPN connection (users will experience timeouts when attempting to access certain network resources). In the ASA logs, a syslog message will appear with text similar to “Transmitting large packet 1420 (threshold 1405).”

This issue can cause high load on server and end hosts unnecessarily due to IP fragmentation and re assembly.

Currently Google hasn’t responded to the issue but we hope Google will soon fix it as currently Android 4.4 has not gained much space in the chart.
