Android Malware To Whack 18 Million Android Devices Next Year

18 Million Android users will encounter Android Malware on their devices next year. Trend Micro has prophesied that the number of malicious and insecure Android apps will triple from 350,000 by the end of this year to more than a million.

According to Lookout mobile Security, 1.2 billion mobile devices are expected to be purchased in 2013 and in the following year users are forecasted to download over 70 billion mobile apps. Due to Android’spopularity, it is estimated that 18 million devices running the operating system may encounter some form of mobile malware. Lookout notes: 72 percent of the malware it detected was classified as toll fraud malware.
