Default camera app of Sony Xperia XZ2s getting Google Lens integration

Google had earlier clearly revealed its intention to bring Google Lens to multiple devices of various OEMs soon rather than later. Among them included devices from Nokia, Xiaomi, LG, Motorola, OnePlus and so on. As a part of this venture, Google is now extending the Google Lens capability to the default camera app of Sony Xperia XZ2 line-up.

Sony has officially announced the Google Lens integration on Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact. Though the support is currently rolling out to only these two XZs, the upcoming XZ2 Premium is also said to feature it on-board.

In order to get the Google Lens support on the default camera app of your Xperia XZ2. As per Sony, you need to install the free update which has been rolling out little while ago. Also, make sure that you’ve updated the Google app to latest available from Google Play Store. Upon completing above steps you should find a new option on default Sony camera app to summon the Google Lens and analyze what’s on your screen currently.
