Google Play Hits 15 Billion Mark A Few Weeks Ago

After news published in The Independent newspaper in UK saying that the Google Play Store was approaching 15 billion downloads, Google officially told TechCruch that they have surpassed 15 Billion Mark. Last Year official number we had from Google was 11 billion downloads.

The Apple App Store reached this same milestone last year in July, and before the launch of the iPad 3 it reached 25 billion downloads. But if we compare earning of both platforms from developers Google Play has generated $320 million in payments, while Apple paid $4 billion at the end of January this year. There’s great gap between both of them. Google expects to make around $35.9 million this year, as revealed in documents from their Google trial with Oracle.
