Google rolls August Security Patch for Pixel and Nexus devices

Finally, a Google has started to rollout the August security Patch for Pixel and Nexus devices. Google announced the update couple of days back and promised to rollout the update within few days. Well, it is here and it packs various new security enhancements and other tweaks.

Every month, Google rolls out an update to enhance up the security of the Android ecosystem. In a bid to improve the overall security, Google brings fixes and taps loopholes via these updates. This month also, they have added fixes for some severe security loopholes.

As like of the last month’s update, Google has rolled the update on the same date this month also.

Users can see below the list of devices with model number for the August security patch on Pixel and Nexus devices:

  • Pixel XL – NJH47F (NKG47S for T-Mobile, Fi carriers, and Rogers; NZH54D for Deutsche Telekom)
  • Pixel – NJH47F (NHG47Q for Verizon; NKG47S for T-Mobile, Fi carriers, and Rogers; NZH54D for Deutsche Telekom)
  • Pixel C – N2G48C
  • Nexus 6P – N2G48C
  • Nexus 5X – N2G48C
  • Nexus 6 – N6F27I, N8I11B
  • Nexus 9 LTE – N4F27K
  • Nexus 9 Wi-Fi – N9F27H
  • Nexus Player – N2G48C

The two level patches are now available –  the two patches are named as 8/01 and 8/05.

If you guys are waiting for the official OTA rollout, then you have to wait. It can take few days to reach out to all the users of Nexus and Pixel devices.
