Honor is steadily sending out the monthly security patches to its smartphones. The company released a list of devices eligible for quarterly security patch updates that counts the Honor 9X series. Also, the Chinese brand has confirmed Hongmeng OS eligibility for smartphones. After several devices like Honor X10 and 20S, the Honor 9X and 9X Pro are grabbing the February 2021 Android security patch.
The latest software for the Honor 9X lineup can be identified with firmware version 10.1.0.126 that weighs around 200MB in size. However, this is a minor update and does not bring any major features or changes to the user experience. But internally, it fixes 2 Critical, 26 High levels, and 77 Medium levels of CVE’s.
This update improves system security using Android security patches.
The build is rolling out in a staged manner so it may take some time to hit all Honor 9X series units. But, as always you can flash the update via Settings -> System -> Software update -> Check for Updates and tap Download and install.
Alternatively, the Support app could also help you with this. To do this, Open Support app -> go to services -> tap Update -> click on check for updates -> install the update.
