Samsung now allows to disable the Bixby button

No matter whether users liked it or not, After a series attempt by Samsung to restrict the user from remapping the Bixby button. The company itself now feels that the option to disable the Bixby button should be granted to the users. Consequently, a new update seeded by Samsung to the Bixby allows the users to disable Bixby button.

The latest update for the Bixby, brings a new toggle which give you the access to manipulate the Bixby Key function. Once you update your Bixby to latest version, the toggle will appear at top of the Bixby Home. It provides two options for the user. Either, we can enable the Bixby key to summon the Bixby Home/Bixby Voice or disable it completely to make the Bixby key idle to open nothing when pressed.

It is to be noted that, the update allows you to disable the Bixby Key, and not remapping. So, once you disable the dedicated Bixby Key, it would be an extra hardware of no use. Which seems to be a little weird for the devices that costs nearly 900 dollars. Nevertheless, for remapping you would still have to seek the help of third-party apps such as Bixbye.

Recently, some of the users find the Bixby button frustrating or as a hinderance. Because, accidentally they used to push the button that summons the Bixby Home often when they hold the Galaxy S8/S8+. Moreover, the placement of Bixby button just below the volume rocker, made the situation bad to worse. Anyway, for all those who find the Bixby button as a nuisance. The new update should be a relief, and would have been more better if remapping is allowed.

Recently, Samsung has started to rollout the Android 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy On Nxt in India. We are also getting hints that soon Samsung is going to launch the Android 8.0 update as it is spotted with the Oreo on Geekbench.

Hope to see the Android 8.0 Oreo on other Smasung devices really soon!
