VLC Player Blacklisted for Huawei Phones from Play Store

Due to immense complaints regarding the VLC player bugs on Huawei phones, Video LAN’s team is taking down the app for Huawei devices. Well, this is the first of its kind incident in the near past where a major app is not available from Play Store for a particular OEM.

As there’s a vast ecosystem of Android OS across different countries. It is quite difficult for a single Video Play developer to focus on many bugs from a single OEM. So, in a bid to improve the stability of the software and maintain good credibility on Play Store. Videolan has been blacklisted for Huawei phones as of now.

Taking to twitter, VideolAN official Twitter Handle tweeted about the news. This is what they are saying on Twitter:

PSA: @HuaweiMobile phones are now blacklisted and cannot get VLC on the Play Store.
Their ridiculous policy of killing all background apps (except their own) breaks VLC audio background playback (of course).
