Till now, WhatsApp only provides delete my account option to unlink your profile or alternatively, the other possibility is to uninstall the application. While uninstalling the app could lead to data loss if it is not backed up. However, now the user doesn’t have to rely on these options as reportedly, WhatsApp is testing a beta update 2.21.30.16  which will introduce the new logout option. This implies that the app will now soon support multi-device login feature. The feature is said to be successful in both WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business.

The logout option will probably replace the Delete my account tab under settings. WABetaInfo shared a video where tapping logout will take you to the start — Agree and Continue page of WhatsApp.

The report suggests that multi-device support update will be implemented in two ways: for WhatsApp Web and different linked devices. The positive point is WhatsApp will be active in connected devices or desktop even if the main handset is not within the reach of the internet. Moreover, multi-device setup will provide the option to user to link their WhatsApp account with a maximum of four devices, which is likely to change in future.
