Whatsapp Hits 700 Million Active Users

WhatsApp had 600 million users in August and now Whatsapp has attained 700 Million Active Users which means that a hit of 100 million users in just four months. Last feburary, Facebook paid $ 19 billion for messaging service ‘WhatsApp’ and is growing tremendously. According to the CEO Jan Koum , more than 200 million have joined WhatsApp since Facebook acquisition. He also added that more than  30 billion messages are sent by users per day.

“Today, we’re thrilled to share that WhatsApp has more than 700 million monthly active users. Additionally, every day our users now send over 30 billion messages. ”

Said WhatsApp CEO, Jan Koum in a Facebook post .

No doubt, Facebook is still the largest social networking site with about 1.35 billion users active per month, WhatsApp is rumored to include voice calling feature ,some screenshot regarding this were leaked in earlier days which can give boost and lead to more number of users. Other social networking Instagram and twitter have 300 million and 284 million users respectively. In past, WhatsApp said that company wasn’t intended to monotize WhatsApp and is not intended to use WhatsApp for money making or business purposes unless it hits billions of users. Company in 2013 hd a total revenue of $10 million. This revenue caome from the user subscription and not from social media advertising system. As per the statements by Zuckerberg and CEO Jan Koum, it was quite clear that company will not entertain any advertising system for few years. A tweet by CEO of the company in past said that-

Even though hundred million users are adding up every month, WhatsApp seems to be away from including in revenue increase via social advertising system, however some users are paying subscription fees per year. Facebook reached another milestone, owning more four products each with more than 300 million users.
