YouTube Kids TV app finally lands on Android TV after 2 years

With Android TV getting more general acceptance in markets like India, Google decided to push YouTube Kids app for the platform. This version is exactly the design that was launched for select smart TVs in April.

The app works exactly as it does for the Android and iOS version. It filters content and pulls child-friendly videos and stuff at the same time brings strong parental controls. Curious little minds can browse four categories: shows, music, learning, and explore. But right now, content blocking and login features are not available. Also, YouTube Red can’t be accessed in it as well.

Seeing that the app debuted on mobile 2 years back, this is actually quite slow to come on Android TV. Also, due to lack of content blocking, you might want to hold on before the app actually gets full-fledged. If you do want to try it out, we’ll leave a link below.
