Essential Phone will have Amazon and Best Buy as retail partners, release date expected in few days

Essential Phone, a Andy Rubin’s device which was announced in the month of June with a bezel-less design. It is as same as we expected a device from a person like Andy Rubin. Well, many users went down for the device and wanted to own it due to it’s beautiful and elegant design with display up to its edges.

But due to unknown reasons, Essential Phone has been delayed from it’s launch within a month as said by Andy Rubin while announcing it. Today, the company’s president, Niccolo De Masi, told the Wall Street Journal that it’ll be another “few weeks.” He further added that, we guys will get official release date by Next week. So now, we have to wait till next week for any official statement regarding the launching.

Further, while talking to WSJ, Niccolo quoted that they will be launching the device via Amazon and Best Buy. It means, they are going to be official retail partners for the Essential phone.

In order to get the widest reach, Essential has partnered up with the two big retail players in the United States. Here’s the additional information of the things that Essential talked about:

  • Essential has confirmed it has closed a $300M Series B, led by Access Technology Ventures, the tech investment platform for Access Industries.
  • Strategic investors include Tencent, Foxconn and Amazon, which is participating via its Alexa Fund. Series A investors Playground and Redpoint are taking part, as is Australia’s sovereign wealth fund Future Fund and technology investors Vy and Altimeter.
  • Essential Phone will be available unlocked on Amazon, Best Buy and Essential.com, in addition to availability through carriers Sprint and Telus (Canada).

There’s much more that Niccole talked about in a brief to WSJ. For Essential phone, we have to wait for atleast couple of weeks to arrive it in our hands.
